TABLE AIR COMBAT

Table Air Combat is a fast, simple air combat game that can be played on any flat surface.  All you need are some six-sided dice and some coins to provide weight for the aircraft counters.  Everything else can be printed from this ruleset.

Download a free set of the complete rules here: Flight Operations Manual

Watch how to play Here

G4M BettyEach player has a flight of four aircraft, represented by two counters.  Aircraft counters move by means of curved “performance rulers” that represent the aircraft’s historical cornering ability and maximum speed.

Each performance ruler is unique to each aircraft, and contains all the speed, cornering, and weapon information needed.

TAC is designed for portability;  The entire game can fit in a plastic bag.  Even the largest battles can take place on a fast-food restaurant table.

Each aircraft is sold separately.  Only pay for the ones you want, and print out as many copies as you need to create your own epic WWII air battle.

This set contains the G4M Betty.  The G4M were land-based bombers that could carry torpedoes for attacking naval vessels. Included are two surface targets:  The HMS Prince of Wales, and the USS Chicago.

This set is a self-contained rulebook that includes miniatures for the G4M Betty and includes four scenarios that reference other aircraft:

Prince of Wales: Royal Navy battleships HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse come under torpedo attack from G4M Betty bombers off the coast of Singapore.

Henderson Field: After a successful bombing raid, G4M bombers have to escape pursuing F4F Wildcat fighters.

Battle of Rennell Island: G4M bombers perform a torpedo attack against the US Navy cruiser Chicago.  F4F Wildcat fighters defend the crippled ship.

Darwin, Australia:  A6M5 Zero fighters escort G4M Betty bombers bomb Darwin, Australia.  The port city is defended by Spitfire V fighters.

Operation Vengeance:  Admiral Yamamoto is travelling in a G4M Betty, when he is bounced by USAAF P-38 Lightnings.

Scenarios written by Randy Wheating

This set contains only the G4M Betty. Other aircraft referenced in the scenarios are sold separately.

I have not tried the game out yet, but I welcome the Betty as a useful addition to the list of aircraft available. I am working on a project to use the game system with 1/700th scale models, which seem to match up well to the size of the printed cardbo [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
